Hatem is an architect by background and developed his career to specialise in strategic masterplanning and urban design. His work focuses on a human-centred approach in planning and design to create better places for people and the environments they live in. He has a diverse range of skills and experiences in the UK and previously the Middle East. He has lectured on architecture and urbanism at various international universities and presented at international conferences.
He is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Design Council Expert (DCE) and Recognised Urban Design Practitioner. He sits on various academic and professional boards and Design Review panels.
