Matt Bowers

Matt is a Director at Hyas and has over 25 years experience as a chartered town planner, the majority of which in public sector place based roles, including over 10 years as Chief Planner and part of senior management and leadership teams in Local Authorities across the Midlands. 
Matt has a focus on planning policy development and regeneration projects particularly in relation to Town Centres. 
He has a track record of leading, motivating and managing multidisciplinary teams on projects including the production of new plans, strategies and masterplans, town centre capital regeneration projects and making successful bids for funding. He has experience of work with multiple authorities on strategic plans from RSS’s, LEP’s and strategic partnerships. 
He has experience of service improvement and has supported a number of local authorities to review and improve their systems, processes, ways of working and customer offer including working with the Planning Advisory Service (PAS) to write guidance on pre-application services and planning performance agreements.
