Milton Keynes Towns Fund

Hyas were commissioned by Milton Keynes Council to help them prepare for setting up a Towns Fund Board and getting things up and running. The initiative is focussed on the Bletchley and Fenny Stratford area.

Hyas provided support to prepare a Readiness Checklist to provide details back to Government about the local approach. We also drew together advice and guidance around how best to establish a Board, together with supporting material including a draft Terms of Reference and programme. We supported the Council to hold a first meeting of key stakeholders early in 2020, and provided guidance on next steps.

Hyas have subsequently been appointed to support the preparation of the Town Investment Plan. Hyas are leading on stakeholder and community engagement including support to implement a range of digital engagement processes. This includes establishing ‘Groundbreaking Bletchley & Fenny’ with a dedicated web presence, delivering an online public survey, running online thematic stakeholder groups, and liaising directly with local community and business groups. Hyas have helped the Board to establish a vision for the place, and also prepared the ‘Stakeholder Engagement Plan’ to guide future activities.
