We are looking for a talented and creative planner with at least 4 years post qualification experience, who could join us at Senior Planner/Principal Consultant level.

We would consider applicants from all parts of the UK, capable of helping meet demand for our services nationwide. We operate a flexible approach, including remote working and access to our ‘hubs’ in Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Manchester.

As a consultancy with a focus on client support and the creation of high quality places, we are looking for someone with energy, ideas and a passion for good place making. You will help us to develop the business, both with existing clients and through generating ideas for further expansion.

In this role you will be expected to contribute to the work of the business across a wide variety of areas, including:

  • Involvement in development plan, policy, development management and engagement activities relating to the planning and delivery of projects across England.
  • Working with and for clients (primarily local authorities), including taking a lead client facing role, advising on a range of matters relating to the delivery of large-scale developments.
  • Preparing high quality reports, plans/drawings, presentations, undertaking research, preparing for workshops, project meetings, etc.
  • Playing an active part in developing and growing the business, in conjunction with colleagues to consider new project leads and expand our network of partner organisations. Assisting in preparing bid responses, drawing up, presenting, and negotiating proposals with clients.
  • Keeping up to date on all areas relating to large scale schemes and masterplanning, as well as the latest policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Town Planning degree / masters (or similar).
  • Be a Chartered Town Planner (or working towards), or at least 4 years of post-graduate experience in your field.
  • Ideally having previous experience of working on large scale residential projects.
  • Be able to take responsibility for delivering outputs and liaising with clients.
  • Manage elements of projects and/or leading on smaller workstreams.
  • Be IT literate in Microsoft Office.
  • Hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
