Welcome Shahd!

We are excited to share Shahd Abdalla has joined Hyas as a placement Graduate Planner, following the completion of her MA in Planning Built Environments at Birmingham City University. Shahd was awared the 2025 Planning Student Award by the Royal Town Planning Institute and BCU. 

Shahd reflected on her experience with us so far: "Grateful to share that it's been just over a month since I joined Hyas, and I couldn't be happier with the journey so far. From day one, the team has been so welcoming and supportive, and its been inspiring to be surrounded by people who care deeply about creating better, more resilient places. I'm already learning so much and really enjoying being part of meaningful, place and people-based work that aligns with what I'm passionate about. Thank you to the team for such a warm welcome and I'm truly excited for what's ahead."

We are pleased to have her join our team, bringing valuable knowledge from her architectural background and strong skills in urban regeneration, policy analysis, and sustainable development.
