North Dorchester Garden Community

Hyas have been commissioned to work with Dorset Council on the proposed new Garden Community at North Dorchester.

Our role is to work alongside the Council and others to help formulate related planning policy guidance and to develop a masterplan and supplementary planning document with specific consideration being given to the formulation of an aspirational vision, development objectives and qualities of place, in the context of Garden Community principles.

The work includes providing project management support for the overall delivery of the project alongside further investigating the opportunities for the development, as well as consideration of the constraints, strengths and weaknesses of the site and enabling consultation locally in developing the masterplan for the project that will sit alongside the emerging Dorset Council Local Plan. The masterplan SPD will be completed and form part of the submission draft of the Local Plan in September 2022.
